I am a Consultant Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle surgeon. My NHS practice is based solely at the world renowned Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (Newsweek's No. 1 ranked orthopaedic institution in the UK).


I am a founding Consultant of the private Stanmore Foot and Ankle Specialists Group from where I practice at the Princess Grace Hospital, Elstree Waterfront Outpatients Centre, Spire Bushey and RNOH Private Care.


I graduated from University College London Medical School and completed basic surgical training in London. I joined the UCLH & Middlesex Hospital orthopaedic training programme. I subsequently completed recognised foot & ankle fellowships in Windsor and the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, was awarded the BOSTAA fellowship to visit centres of excellence in USA and Holland, and the recipient of sponsorship by BOFAS to undertake the BOA Clinical Leaders Programme.


Throughout my career, I have been actively involved with research. I am widely published with numerous peer reviewed publications, book chapters and consensus publications. I am actively involved in research at the Institute of Orthopaedics and Musculoskeletal Science based at RNOH.


I was elected to sit on a national committee with the British Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society (BOFAS), and am a reviewer for numerous orthopaedic peer-reviewed journals.


I am a keen educator and trainer, and have won a Top Teacher award by UCL Medical School. I run departmental teaching for registrars and am regularly invited as faculty for orthopaedic courses and registrar training programmes.

Specialist Interests

I manage only orthopaedic conditions relating to the foot and ankle surgery which include:

  • Ankle arthritis and deformity

  • Ankle arthroscopy

  • Ankle replacements

  • Flat feet deformity and tibialis posterior tendon dysfunction

  • Forefoot deformity (including bunions, arthritis and lesser toes)

  • Hindfoot arthritis and deformity

  • Midfoot arthritis and deformity

  • Neuromuscular feet (including Charcot Marie Tooth)

  • Osteochondral/cartilage defects

  • Plantar fasciitis

  • Sports injuries including ligament sprains

  • Tendon disorders


Research Interests

I am actively involved in research including novel methods of treating cartilage injuries, deformity correction, treatment of neuromuscular disorders, and into methods for assessing foot and ankle conditions. For an up to date list of my publications, please click here.
